Incumbent serves as a lead wildland firefighter (Assistant Fire Engine Operator) on a Type 6 engine module at the Lassen Volcanic National Park interagency fire station located out of Mineral. General duties include assisting module captain with leadership and management of engine module personnel on a daily basis to ensure effective and efficient module readiness on a consistent basis. Primary duties required to accomplish this goal include participation in a regular module physical training program; assisting in development of training opportunities for module readiness; provide leadership for and evaluation of crew tasks and activities; safe and effective leadership and operation of a Type 6 wildland fire engine during emergency responses; and knowledge of wildland fire behavior and appropriate management strategies and tactics... and more.
